It was also reported that Adolf Hitler was a big fan of Rochdale Town Hall & planned on taking it stone by stone back to Germany if they defeated us. 

A part of Greater Manchester that used to get a lot of bad press, I blame Ewan Macoll, whose famous song "Dirty Old Town" was inspired by Salford. Not the best choice of words Ewan. 

Salford is another Northern city that carries a lot of history. Di you know that the birth of Vegetarianism was in Salford & that Guy Fawkes plan to blow up parliament was plotted in Ordsall Hall.
