But, how realistic is a full, unfiltered, zero waste lifestyle? 

Did you know that the average person generates over 2 tonnes of waste every year? That’s the size of a small car!

With that amount of rubbish being chucked away each year, surely there is something we can do to reduce it?

Before we start, we need to acknowledge that the life of a Busy Bins worker isn't like the old soft core shows of The Life of a Window Cleaner, or Milkman....our days are a LOT less boring & raunchy, unless you think waste is sexy of course! 

You will have been pottering around Manchester & definitely spotted our big green machines plodding along, picking up rubbish, emptying bins and keeping Manchester waste free...however, have you ever wondered what happens in the day in a life of a Busy Bins worker? 

 This time we are taking a deep dive into the 10 household items lying around your house that you didn't know you could recycle or reuse!

From Old CDS & DVDS (Are they still a thing?) to how to get rid of your old, scraggy toothbrushes, this blog has got it all the info you need on what items can be recycled. 

Waste management is not just important for adults around the world, but, is crucial for children to learn. By being shown how necessary managing waste is for our planet, children can develop a true understanding of the impact that recycling and waste really has. 

So for today's lesson, we will be tossing out the textbooks & getting hands-on!

With lectures, seminars, e-learning, assignments & that student loan that needs spending. Learning about going green and becoming more sustainable can sound like another boring lecture...but it doesn't have to be!
